Use What You’ve Got!

by Min. Andre Gilford

From Amazing Grace – The ROHO Devotional Series

Read: Matthew 5:13-16: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Watch: Unwrapping the Gift by Bishop Brandon Porter

Have you ever taken inventory of your gifts? Seriously, have you ever sat down and contemplated on the things you were innately blessed with. A lot of people go through life not having a clue about what their gifts are. Furthermore, many people go through life trying to hide or diminish their gifts for a plethora of reasons: fear of what others would say, fear of discomfort, etc. To become everything you were made to be requires an acceptance of all of the gifts that were planted inside of you from the beginning. Everything you need has already been provided. In the mirror, you are looking at the answer to your prayer.

The scriptural meditation discusses the usefulness of very valuable commodities–things most people are desperate to obtain. As a creation of the divine, God’s breath is covering and inside each and every one of us. If we are made in his image, we are made with all of the things that we are praying for. What good are those gifts that you have been provided, if the aren’t used for the maximum benefit.

Pray: Loving and Kind God, Thank you for who you are And being a resource for those who need it. Help me to be more careful and less tense. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
