Watch: He Won’t Win by Dr. Alyn Waller

There are many times in life where we will get distracted by small things. Gossip, focusing on what other people have, relationship issues, and doubt keep us from what that needs our utmost attention – our destiny. In order to live a life full of purpose, we must be intentional, keeping our eyes on the prize and not letting the things that are not worth our time or energy weigh us down.

In the scripture meditation today, Peter attempts to distract Jesus with what would be considered good intention on the surface. Peter may have been concerned about Jesus’ well-being and wanted to stop him from enduring the suffering that he was bound to endure. Yet, Jesus saw beyond Peter’s “good intentions.” Jesus knew that every step was ordered and He was focused on sticking it through til the end, no matter the level of suffering.

In order to reach our full selves and realize what God has in store for us, we often have to go through things. However, we must not be distracted with nonsense, but we must stay on track and stay focused on the end goal. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will win in the end. The Apostle Paul reminds us, “our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed.” (Romans 8:18) Don’t let small-minded people or situations keep you from reaching your destiny. Suffer on, keeping your mind on Jesus and you will win!
