Scars Show Progress

Scripture: Galatians 6:17: From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

Scars can be ugly. Based on the dream aesthetic of most people, scars are not considered to be the most desirable. Furthermore, scars can take beautiful, smooth skin and turn it into rough, sometimes, callous portion. Because of this, we hide our scars: some do not want to bear the thoughts of undesirability by friends and acquaintances; others, because of the shame that is follows the origin of the scar. Scars are a direct insight to what one has gone through. They will never go away.

Though scars is a distinct visual of a hard time in your life; possibly a moment where pain was experienced, the fact that the scar can be seen means that you are still here. The many things we go through may not define who we are, but can develop us into the person we need to be. The scars that we have as a result of those things show resilience and fortitude, despite the pressure or circumstances. It proves that you survived.

Prayer: Oh Lord, Help me to accept my scars;  You have given me to capacity to heal from my pain and the fortitude to make it through. I submit my will to you. In the name of Jesus, our Lord, Amen.
