by Misha Palmer
Monday is usually the day many people seem to loathe. I’m pretty sure if we all could just bypass Monday, we wouldn’t hesitate to jump at the opportunity to skip the day. But the reality is, there’s no escaping it. There’s no magic rewind back to Sunday, or fast-forward to Tuesday button. And yes, there’s no potion we can drink to make the weekend last longer. We’re simply forced to suck it up and deal with our Monday blues.
But does it have to be so bad or blue? Do we have to wake up on Monday mornings with feelings of lethargy, misery and be disgruntled? Of course not, there’s plenty things we can do to help make the start of the week not feel so depressing. And I’m not talking about drinking surmountable cups of coffee either. Yes, it might taste good, but it is not going to get rid of Mondays, nor the blues that often accompany day.
We should all start by waking up with a grateful heart. For every Monday you live to see, you ought to step out of bed and just be thankful. The world is filled with so much hate and turmoil, you just never know what life may hold. Living to see another Monday shouldn’t give you the blues, but give you a heart and spirit of gratitude.
And although the weekend is everyone’s favorite time of the week, Mondays have a unique way of providing a fresh start. And who doesn’t love the feeling of new beginnings? Mondays are great for mentally preparing for the week ahead. It’s the perfect time to set new goals and get started on that something new in your life. If you think about it, if you hate the start of the week, it’s a sure sign that you are not doing what you love. And if you are not doing what you love, it might be time to reevaluate your life. Let’s figure out what is it that makes you feel alive and happy any day of the week. Making the Monday blues a thing of the past.
