Morning Motivation: Don’t trip over haters. It’s not your fault that people are jealous. You should never apologize for your favor.
Read: Genesis 50:19-20: And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Everyday we work towards improving ourselves and achieving our goals. But one of the common roadblocks to those efforts are the opinions of those around us. As we improve people become jealous of the improvements we make. And often times that jealousy leads us to second guess our progress. But you should never delay your journey just because other people are jealous of your success. Today’s sermon teaches us to never apologize for the evidence of God’s favor in our lives. You should feel free to exercise your gifts without worrying about the opinions of those around you.
People who have no intention to climb higher will never approve of your ascent. They will question your climbing strategy. They will question your motivation for climbing. And all of these questions will cause you to doubt your goals and doubt the God who gave you the goals. But you can never sacrifice your goals on the altar of some relationship. Stay focused on what God has for you. And know that even when people do you harm and try to stifle your dreams, God will still work it out for your good.
